Auersperg. Wilhelm Taler 1805 MS66 Prooflike NGC, Vienna mint, KM5, Dav-39. A one-year Convention Taler that features the bust of Wilhelm with crowned, draped arms, all handsomely mottled by russet and charcoal color. Underlying radiance is immediately detected and the surfaces are host to fantastic illustrations that have been deeply impressed--the Portrait of Wilhelm shows each individual curl crisply defined, while the emboldened reverse motif will easily engage the viewer for prolonged study. Any evidence of handling or strike-throughs are well-camouflaged by the surrounding patina, and thus this Gem has certified in a category all its own.
