Republic gold Pattern 50 Centavos 1900-So MS63 NGC, Santiago mint (in conflict, KM lists La Paz as the mint, but our research has suggested otherwise), KM-Pn53. An attractive striking in gold of the standard circulating issue, with flashy gleam in the fields and detail that is full, save for a tiny area on the highest point of the condor's chest. Only the third example of this type we have seen (with only 5 or 6 known) and somewhat surprisingly, the finest of those by a wide margin, with the other two examples exhibiting heavy handling in the form of pinscratches, rim dents and deep contact marks. As such, conceivably the finest known example in this presentation, and a seldom-rivaled opportunity for the pattern or world gold collector.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
