Victoria 25 Cents 1871-H MS66+ NGC, Heaton mint, KM5. A visual masterpiece with the planchet acting as a painter's canvas, presenting a delicate melange of amber and gold color that resides at the peripheries and a mixture of honeydew and turquoise hues that dress the centers. Once in hand, the surfaces awaken with a tremendous amount of luster that effortlessly cartwheels both sides, drawing brightness across the designs and filling the fields with light. As one would expect at this Gem level of Mint State, the expanses that surround the fully rendered portrait of the Queen are resoundingly fresh and the reverse surfaces echo that same sentiment. Absolutely deserving of the plus designation by NGC, and because of that caveat, this selection remains unchallenged by any other certified examples at this time.
Estimate: 4000-5000 USD
