Bavaria. Maximilian I 1/2 Taler 1627 MS66 NGC, Munich mint, KM224, Hahn-104. Uncircled variety. An aesthetically pleasing issue that features the ever-popular image of the Madonna and child, incredibly pronounced and surrounded by rays. The obverse crowned shield and order chain is equally precise in its detail, and the flan gives off a blush-toned vibrance upon rotation. A coin so well preserved, it likely spent most of the last 350 years placed in a coin cabinet, surrounded by equally stunning rarities. Few records of this two-year issue are available, and in reviewing the census report, it appears that this is the only certified example at the Mint-State level. As such, this sublime Gem is likely to garner much attention from the collector community.

Estimate: 3000-5000 USD
