Bavaria. Ludwig I "Monument" Taler 1834 MS66+ NGC, KM406, Dav-572, Thun-64. Struck to commemorate the construction of the Monument at Oberwittelsbach. Attractively preserved with pinpoint striking detail on both sides and only the slightest evidence of previous handling over the surfaces. Delicate cloudy tone on the obverse and dappled brownish color on the reverse confirms absolute originality. Extremely desirable in this top condition, and presently unequaled in grade at NGC or PCGS.
