Bavaria. Ludwig III Proof 5 Mark 1914-D PR67 Ultra Cameo NGC, Munich mint, KM1007. A one-year issue that is scarcely encountered in Proof--let alone so choice--featuring luxurious cameo contrast between the flashy mirrors and satin-coated design features, all atop surfaces that are nearly immaculate. The massive, silvery-white planchet truly dazzles the eye, while touches of golden color that rest on the flat, squared-off rims act as a golden bezel around the reverse. Conditionally rare--this is currently the only Proof specimen certified by NGC, with the next finest-known graded PR64 by PCGS--and sure to attract great attention from the collector community.
