Prussia. Friedrich Wilhelm III gold Friedrich d'or 1813-A MS65+ NGC, Berlin mint, KM371. A spectacular representative of the popular gold type that features the bust of Friedrich Wilhelm III and the image of a crowned, spread eagle atop trophies. Deep honey-toned surfaces easily brighten with a quick turn of the wrist, as incredible mint luster sweeps the fields, and the central motifs are noticeably bold for the type--particularly the reverse. While no individual marks deter the eye, for the sake of accuracy, a partial planchet lamination is present at the obverse edge. A superb example in a certified realm of its own, and one that has been awarded the coveted plus designation by NGC.
