Prussia. Wilhelm I gold Proof 20 Mark 1888-A PR65+ Ultra Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM505, Jaeger-246. A spectacular representative of this last year in the series, with flashy tangerine-gold surfaces that express a light layer of tone, and a stunning amount of effulgence in the fields which contrasts nicely with the silk-textured designs. A few identifying characteristics are noted throughout, likely lintmark strike-throughs, the most notable being one in front of the King's nose and the other mimicking a wrinkle near his eye. Aside from those as-struck complexities, the rest of the planchet remains free of improper handling, just as the assigned grade indicates. While not the finest certified, this selection does possess the coveted plus designation, which further confirms the bold nature and technical preciseness of this specimen.

Estimate: 5000-7000 USD
