Saxe-Altenburg. Ernst I Proof 5 Mark 1903-A PR66 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM40, J-144. Commemorating the 50th year of Ernst's reign, with voluminous flash in the fields and a subtle ring of golden tone that resides at the rims. The raised images are boldly rendered and a few stray marks likely preclude an even finer designation. Even so, this jewel-like offering is currently tied with only one other example at PCGS in this top level of certification.
