Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Carl Eduard gold Proof 10 Mark 1905-A PR67 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM-Y154, Jaeger-273. Proof Mintage: 489. A remarkable survivor of this singular issue, exquisitely produced with deep, marigold coloration and with delicate, watery mirrors that contrast beautifully against the silk-textured design elements. Once in hand the eye immediately observes the preciseness of the strike, as the portrait of the Duke expresses pinpoint accuracy and the reverse crowned eagle displays full-feather definition. Other than a small wisp located in the left obverse field, the surfaces retain a pleasing freshness so often desired for a coin of this scarcity. Struck in a limited Proof quantity, and currently certified two points finer than its next competitor, making it a model representative of the type and a conditional Gem.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
