Papal States. Pius VI gold 30 Paoli (Doppia d'Oro) 1783 MS65 NGC, KM1049, Fr-246. An elusive type, practically unseen in this state of preservation, with subtle patina that covers the silk-textured surfaces in amber color. Fully original luster provides a glowing backdrop to the stylized designs, and the mark-free fields are easily filled with undisturbed brightness. A touch of softness is noted in the centers, however, this has little affect on the overall stunning appearance of this conditional Gem.
