Piedmont. Subalpine Republic 5 Francs L'An 10 (1801) MS66 NGC, KM-C4. Mintage: 33,000. A miraculous survivor from this short-lived republic that was established by Napoleon under the dominion of Sardinia. The flashy, argent surfaces are alight with mint luster that easily flows throughout the fields and the raised illustrations are beautifully styled and impeccably bold, the result of a precise and definitive strike. From a two-year series, and conditionally scarce at this exalted level of preservation.
