Venice. Revolutionary Republic 5 Lire 1848 MS65 NGC, Venice mint, KM803, Dav-208, Pag-178. One-year type. Fully original with a sharp strike that fully details the lion of St. Mark and a dappled mixture of earthen patina over both sides that traverses obviously reflective fields. Despite being only scarce at the Mint State grade, a coin that is rarely available as a Gem, with this coin being tied with one other example for the finest seen by NGC.
