Meiji gold 5 Yen Year 8 (1875) MS67 NGC, Osaka mint, KM-Y11a, JNDA-1.3a. As close to perfect as one is bound to find for this date, with a complete strike that fully details the dragon's scales and peripheral characters, surfaces that have been immaculately preserved and remain absent the typical signed of handling and fields that are nearly fully prooflike and reflect an early emission off the die. One of the only three examples to reach this exalted Superb Gem grade at NGC, and we can imagine no finer extant. The finest example that we have offered or seen offered elsewhere; a specialist's dream coin!
