Mexico
Republic "Hookneck" 1/2 Real 1824 Mo-JM MS65 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM369. A sensational survivor of this iconic design type in minor form, the denomination having only been struck for a single year until the new eagle motif was adopted. As a Gem, perhaps unmatched in quality, as this piece showcases praiseworthy originality, both sides being adorned in earthen tone with visible underlying luster. Little evidence of handling is also observed, but even more impressive is the strike that has fully rendered the 'Libertad' script as well as the reverse eagle, this attribute being essentially matchless of survivors of the type. As the finest example graded of the date at NGC and PCGS, a coin that will certainly generate significant excitement.
