Carl XIV Johan 1/2 Speciedaler 1844 MS65 NGC, Kongsberg mint, KM312, Ahlstrom-29. One-year type. A dynamic representative of this intricate design type that possesses the combination of elite preservation and superb eye-appeal. Fully detailed from center to edge, this lovely Gem boasts very few marks that attract the eye. Even more worthy of commendation however is the sumptuous tone, with gray coloration over prooflike fields in the centers and a small crescent of russet tone over portions of the edges on both sides that explodes with fiery vibrancy. One of a small handful of examples of this type to survive in such a remarkable state, but more likely than not, a coin that stands alone in terms of visual appearance. Thusly, a true dream coin for the collector!
