Carl XIV Johan Speciedaler 1819 MS64 NGC, Kongsberg mint, KM290, Dav-240, Ahlstrom-1. An entirely choice example of this first date of the type and of extremely rare quality as such, with deeply toned surfaces that exhibit iridescent qualities, a design that has been boldly placed on a problem-free flan and surfaces that are amazingly clean, absent all but the most insignificant instances of past contact. A coin that is truly difficult to place a value on, as the only quasi-comparable example of the date that we've offered was a NGC-graded AU58 that brought $8,050 in 2012. This piece, with it obviously superior surfaces, and a significantly higher grade, should certainly far exceed that price.
