Oscar I Speciedaler 1846 MS67 NGC, Kongsberg mint, KM317, Dav-243. A tremendous rarity with exquisite autumnal color that haloes the outer registers and fresh surfaces that are drenched in a satin finish. Once in hand, sweeping cartwheel luster illuminates the centers, highlighting bold strikes on each side, and other than a few minute contact marks, the fields are essentially free of post-strike handling. Decidedly scarce as a type, more so when encountered at the Mint State level, and essentially unheard of in this superior technical quality, sure to elicit a tremendous amount of excitement from the specialized collectors of rare 19th century Noway crowns.
