Oscar I Speciedaler 1849 MS66 NGC, Kongsberg mint, KM317, Dav-243, Ahlstrom-4. A fully struck premium Gem example of this elusive type, with full radiance in the fields that is only enhanced by the addition of dappled tone in green, yellow, maroon, orange-gold and blue hues over both sides. As might might expect from this elite grade, very few instances of contact are seen on either the raised surfaces or in the fields, confirming this piece as very special indeed. Extremely rare quality for the date and type and not surprisingly, unrivaled in the NGC census with next closest seen being a MS63.
