Augustus III Taler 1755-EDC MS66+ NGC, KM929.1, Dav-1617. Fully impressive from start to finish, with a massive, golden-toned planchet that hosts precisely executed design illustrations, as well as the draped and crowned bust of Augustus, the Duke of Saxony and King of Poland. Vivid, original luster easily illuminates the open fields, which are impossibly fresh considering the size and age of this piece, leaving the eye completely satisfied at every turn. A seldom offered Taler at any level, rather scarce when encountered in Mint State, and nearly inconceivable in this lofty Gem designation.
