Philip V 8 Reales 1728 S-P MS65 NGC, Seville mint, KM336.3, Cal-938. A stunning representative of this early milled type, the surfaces conveying every bit the quality of the assigned grade, from the bold strike that brings out all the minute details in the centers and has prominently upset the obverse rims, to the fields that sparkle with original luster beneath a melange of enchanting gray, purple and gold patina. Furthermore, essentially no evidence of past handling is observed on either side, suggesting the grade is conservative if anything at all. Part of a small handful of astonishing Philip V Gem 8s that have survived the typical perils of time, and as a result, deserving of prominent placement in an elite cabinet of important world crowns.

Estimate: 8000-12000 USD
