George V Proof Shilling 1934-(m) PR65 PCGS, Melbourne mint, KM26. Mintage: 100. Nearing the end of this series, and expressing a scant Proof mintage of just 100 pieces, this delightful specimen features an incomparable pattern of russet tone that mimics an artist's brush stroke. The virtually unmarked, steel-toned planchet hosts impeccable illustrations, showing fierce definition across the designs due to an exacting strike, and surrounding reflectivity that casually glows from beneath the patina. While not the finest-certified example of the date, this praiseworthy Gem is an absolute contender, and should generate a substantial amount of activity as such.
