George VI Proof Crown 1938-(m) PR62 PCGS, Melbourne mint, KM34. Mintage: 250. A highly revered 20th century crown in stunning Proof format. The broad planchet truly dazzles, with fresh-from-the-mint argent tone and champagne color that mottles the surfaces. A bit of rub atop the King's cheek and usual handling associated with the grade are well contained, leaving the eye appeal of this offering in an elevated state. This beautifully designed coin was struck for only two years, 1938 being the second and final of the series, and in reviewing the census reports, this current selection appears to be the only certified Proof example of the date. Further, despite the SCWC reporting a smaller Proof-striking mintage for 1937, 1938 seems to be the scarcer issue in availability. A coin that should easily surpass our high estimate, and undoubtedly bring great joy to its next owner.

Estimate: 10000-15000 USD
