Franz II Taler 1792-A MS62 PCGS, Vienna mint, KM2157, D-1176. An elusive rarity in both technical quality and availability, this impressive singular issue presents a light mottling of russet color across the steel-gray surfaces and peach iridescence that glows from the protected areas. The obverse is beautifully rendered, but the reverse commands the eye's attention, showing fully-intricate crowned arms and crisply-defined stylized supporters. At present time, and rather unsurprisingly, this selection remains the only certified example of the type, and as such, is every bit worthy of a bid that surpasses our estimate.
