Richard II (1377-1399) gold Noble ND MS65 PCGS, London mint, Type I Lettering with French titles, Cross pattée mm, S-1654, North-1302 (S). Crowned king with sword and shield standing facing in ship, an annulet above the ship's sail / Floriate cross with R in central quadrilobe, trefoils in spandrels. A bright and lustrous example of this type, struck slightly off-center from later state dies. Die rust and die work are visible throughout the fields and interfere slightly with portions of the legends, but the central details are well-struck overall without significant doubling.
