Anne gold 5 Guineas 1706 MS61 NGC, Royal mint, KM520.2, Fr-317, S-3560. Pre-Union reverse, QVINTO edge. A truly exceptional specimen of this type, lustrous with semi-reflective fields tempered by gorgeous reddish tone and faint handling, commensurate with the certified grade. The details of the beautifully engraved dies are fully realized by a meticulous strike, the highest points of which exhibit similar marks to those in the fields, the most obvious across Anne's cheek, and cabinet friction too light to be considered circulation wear in any real sense. Wonderfully original and truly rare in this exceptional state of preservation.

The Acts of Union were separate acts of of the English and Scottish Parliaments passed in 1706 and 1707, based on the Treaty of Union which was finalized on 22 May, 1706, after which the arrangements of the arms on the reverse of coins of Anne were modified to reflect the union of England and Scotland into Great Britain. Once each parliament had ratified the treaty, the union officially took effect on 1 May, 1707.

Estimate: 150000-200000 USD
