A rare date of this popular "young head" 5 guineas type of George II that seems to only appear at public auction only once or twice per year. This coin has some light, even, rub that prevents it from achieving Mint State status, but its eye appeal more than makes up for that fact. It has lovely reddish toning throughout that serves as a way to highlight the legends and devices. Indeed, we would not be surprised if a savvy collector might prefer this coin to one with a technically higher numerical grade because of its eye appeal.
