George IV Proof Crown 1826 PR63 Cameo PCGS, Royal mint, KM699, S-3806. SEPTIMO edge. Though this coin has its technical superiors, few can match it in terms of eye appeal. Of the 35 proof 1826 crowns that PCGS has graded, only two, in any grade, were given the desirable "cameo" designation because of the attractively frosted devices. In addition to standing in contrast to the mirrored fields, the devices and legends are flanked by a wonderful aqua iridescence throughout. A highly desirable piece, and apparently quite rare with such a notable cameo effect!
