Great Britain
Victoria gold "827 on Bust" Sovereign 1863 VF35 NGC, Royal mint, S-3852F. Die number 827 on truncation. Perhaps the most challenging of the Victoria British Sovereign series to procure, this rarity is currently known only by a handful of examples, most well-circulated as is the present offering. This piece is of the first type without die number 22 stamped into the reverse, and was not a known variety until 1954. Very rare and a key for any comprehensive Sovereign collection.
Estimate: 5000-6000 USD
