Victoria gold Proof Sovereign 1893 PR65 Cameo PCGS, KM785, S-3874, WR-341. When one sees this coin, the first thing they notice, and will continue to remark upon, is the deep red toning throughout, aside from a small area of brighter surfaces in the center of the obverse. One rarely sees gold coins with such an appealing color, and yet here we are with this one. We last sold a PR65 in April, 2015, where an NGC PR65 hammered for $7,000. The piece on offer here, however, possesses the coveted Cameo designation, along with the aforementioned lovely red toning, pushing this coin to a tier above that one.
