Victoria gold 5 Pounds 1893 MS64 NGC, KM787, S-3872. A true conditional rarity- of the 80 coins of this date graded by NGC, a mere two have been graded MS64, with none higher. The grades at PCGS confirm this- of the 64 pieces graded by them, 9 have reached the MS64 level, with none higher. This would seem to suggest that MS64 is essentially the ceiling for this type, in terms of grade. There are a few scattered hairlines, but also some milling marks in the fields which should not be mistaken for post-striking imperfections. Overall this is a lovely piece that would be a great addition to any world gold crown collection.
