Elizabeth II copper Three-Piece Matte Proof Set 1953,
1) Farthing 1953, KM881, S-4156, PR63 Brown NGC
2) 1/2 Penny 1953, KM882, S-4155, PR64 Brown NGC
3) Penny 1953, KM883, S-4154, PR63 Brown NGC
Royal mint. All three are part of the 1953 Coronation set of Queen Elizabeth II. Each has the granular, matte-like surfaces showing that they were struck using sand-blasted dies. These Matte pieces were struck in very limited numbers (reportedly only 3-4 pieces), to be used for photographic purposes at the Royal Mint. Each is richly toned in shades of chocolate-brown. Exceedingly rare.
