Travancore. Rama Varma IV gold Sovereign ME 1057//1881 MS65 NGC, KM32, Fr-1403. Mintage: 1,000. One-year type. One of the most highly sought standard sovereign issues of any country with the present example representing the single finest graded at NGC or PCGS by several grades, thus making it quite possibly the finest known for this rarely seen type. Close inspection of the surfaces of this example confirm what a beauty it is! Reflective shimmer in the fields remains undisturbed to the eye and the design, showcasing Rama Varma IV in headdress on the obverse and elephants converging on the immediately identifiable Tranvacore conch shell on the reverse, is fully sharp with no areas of softness. Essentially no marks further confirms the Gem grade. As such, an excellent opportunity for the collector of sovereigns or Indian gold to obtain a coin in quality that may remain unduplicated for generations.
Ex. Lawrence Adams Collection

Estimate: 15000-20000 USD
