British India. East India Company - Victoria gold Mohur 1841.-(c) MS61 NGC, Calcutta mint, KM462.3, Prid-22, S&W-3.7. Type A/1. "W.W." Plain 4. Small Date variety. An attractive example of this scarcer "Small Date - Plain 4" variety, with appealing surfaces for the grade, the luster remaining bright with no marks of major consequence. One fleck of debris is visible in the field below R in VICTORIA, and could likely be professionally removed with ease. While rather subtle, a touch of orange-gold color along the reverse rims adds character. A scarce coin at the Mint State grade, and even more so for this lesser-seen variety. As such, an ideal coin for the specialist.
