Milan. Philip IV of Spain (1621-1665) gold Quadrupla (2 Doppie) 1630 MS63 NGC, Milan mint, KM49, Fr-724, MIR-359/6, Crippa-3/A. A wonderfully preserved example of this type, highly lustrous with few notable post-strike imperfections. Although it is crudely produced, as is typical of the issue with some areas of detail weakness, the devices overall are pleasing, particularly the leading half of the portrait.
