Naples & Sicily. Ferdinand II gold 30 Ducati 1839 MS61 NGC, Naples mint, KM334, Fr-866. Attractively portrayed, featuring the bearded portrait of Ferdinand II and the standing figure of the Bourbon genius. Struck in only two years, this Mint-State offering delivers exciting sharpness throughout the raised designs, with strong detailing noted atop the portrait, as well as the three, fleurs-di-lis on the reverse shield. In addition to fully completed illustrations, complimenting mint luster still manages to brighten the open fields with a quick turn of the wrist. If not for a bit of rub and a number of heavier abrasions observed across both sides, this selection would likely grade at least a point or two higher. Even still, locating a truly uncirculated example of this fleeting type remains fairly difficult, and as such, this present specimen is deserving of much attention from those who collect conditionally scarce issues from the Two Sicilies.

Estimate: 7000-9000 USD
