Kingdom. Umberto I gold 100 Lire 1888-R MS61 NGC, Rome mint, KM22, Fr-18, Pag-570. Obv. Bare head left. Rev. Crowned coat-of-arms within Order chain; all within wreath; rayed star above. Highly lustrous, this fairly scarce, large-sized gold issue, with a mintage of just 1,169 pieces, is an exceptionally pleasing strike, and is greatly collected in any grade, especially in a mint state grade such as this. Though exhibiting some hairlines, this specimen offers crisp devices and an attractive, light golden tone near the peripheries.
