Vittorio Emanuele III gold Matte Proof 100 Lire 1925 PR62 NGC, Rome mint, KM66. An always-popular one-year type that was struck as a dual commemorative, to celebrate both the 25th year of Vittorio Emanuele III's reign and the 10th anniversary of Italy's entry into World War I. On the present piece, while few deep marks are observed, numerous grade-defining grazes appear over the delicate matte surfaces as is often the case with this type. Still, rather presentable, and a coin that would undoubtedly provide added historical significance to a collection of world gold type.
