Zacatecas. Ferdinand VII Insurgent 8 Reales 1811-L.V.O. XF40 NGC, Zacatecas mint, KM189. "Local arms" variety. A pleasing coin for the assigned grade with limited wear on the higher points, quite well defined details throughout and essentially free of the strike defects that often plague this crude issue. Recent research by Carlos Jara has conclusively proven the "local arms" type to be an insurgent issue, and thus among the very first issues of Independent Mexico. Very scarce and much sought after in this unflawed condition.
