Augustin I Iturbide gold 8 Escudos 1823 Mo-JM AU53 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM314, Fr-60. The final 8 escudos issue of the First Mexican Empire, struck just before Iturbide's downfall in March of 1823, this piece is wildly popular and highly collected across the states of preservation, but this fact is especially so in such a pleasing, near-mint state grade. An enchanting, light golden tone near the peripheries increases this specimen's elegance. Some flan stress near the central points of the obverse and reverse do not detract from its majesty in any way.
