Utrecht. Dutch Republic (1582-1795) gold Rose Noble 1601-1603 MS65 NGC, Utrecht mint, Fr-277, Delm-959, PW Ut-21. King in ship facing, holding sword and shield; on the stern a banner with lion rampant left; large rose on ship's hull / Rose and sun on cross fleurée, crowns and lions in quarters, all within polylobe. A highly lustrous example of this imitative issue, essentially as struck with minimal striking weakness and bright fields. Those using the PW catalog should note that the images for Ut-20 and Ut-21 have mistakenly been swapped.
