Pedro II gold 4000 Reis 1704 MS67 NGC, KM156, Fr-76. Simply stunning, it is hard to find the words to accurately describe this piece. Though these pieces are accessible, we feel quite confident when saying that this is the finest known piece. Some light die polish lines are noted, but even under 10x magnification we have a hard time finding any sort of detriment on the surfaces. It is hard to estimate a Superb Gem piece such as this, which stands a head above the rest; the closest example we could find having ever sold was an NGC MS66 piece sold by Goldberg's in 2008, where it hammered for $8,250. Obviously, not only is coin in even higher grade than that, but in the last nine years the market for high world coins has gone up across the board. Only you as the bidder will be able to decide what this coin is really worth.
Estimate: 6000-8000 USD
