Catherine II gold 5 Roubles 1767-CПБ AU55 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C78a, Fr-130a, Bitkin-15, Diakov-160. Obv. Crowned and mantled bust right. Rev. Crowned and garnished cruciform coats-of-arms around central Order of St. Andrew. A highly pleasing and enchanting gold issue from early in the reign of Catherine II 'the Great,' this piece exhibits only the slightest amount of light wear and gentle handling on the high points, and still retains a good deal of original mint luster. Very difficult to encounter in problem-free grades such as this, the present example must surely be one of the nicest remaining examples from an original mintage of just 90,000 pieces.
