Philip IV 50 Reales 1632 Aqueduct-R XF45 NGC, Segovia mint, Cal-242, KM81.3. Aqueduct mintmark for Segovia, with R assayer. 72.8x75.75/169.8g. Extremely rare with 10 or less confirmed examples, several of which are now permanently impounded. The King authorized an estimated mintage of 50 coins by request of silver merchants who undoubtedly displayed them proudly and perhaps even traded them for high sums. The natural mint-made planchet defect at 3 o'clock is characteristic of a coin corresponding to the end of the silver plate ("fin de riel" in Spanish).
Estimate: 15000-20000 USD
