Ferdinand (Fernando) VII silver 20 Reales 1833 M-DG PR61 NGC, Madrid mint, Cayon-16105, Calico-518, Dav-329, KM-575. A brilliant white, well struck Proof example of this very scarce one-year type with the unflattering portrait of Ferdinand VII. This one-year type was minted in very small amounts in the year of the king's death, and only three regular issue example, and three Proofs have been certified by NGC, with none finer than 63. The "de Vellon" coinage system was used from 1808-1850. The values were re-set, making 20 Reales equal 1 Peso, instead of the usual 8 Reales equalling 1 Peso. This system was discarded in 1850.
