Switzerland
Confederation brass Specimen Essai 100 Francs 1925-B SP62 NGC, Bern mint, KM-E5. HMZ-21224b. Plain Edge variety. Essentially identical in design to the beloved one-year gold issue of 1925, this brass essai finds itself in similar high demand as a result of the lovely depiction of Helvetia on the obverse, a personification of Switzerland with a fresh face and woven locks of hair. The mountains in the background, so common in depictions of idyllic Swiss scenery, further compliment the design and make it an undeniable numismatic classic. The coin itself, despite the grade that often suggest heavy handling, is actually rather choice in appearance with no marks that catch the eye and light tone to the exposed brass surfaces that mutes the metals full brilliance. For the owner of the issue in gold, an undeniable (and rarer) compliment piece.
