Rama V Three-piece gold Pattern Set RS 127 (1908),
1) Satang KM-Pn50, MS65 NGC
2) 5 Satang KM-Pn51, MS63 NGC
3) 10 Satang KM-Pn52, MS64 NGC

All are fully brilliant, with sparkling luster and boldly struck devices. Each piece exhibits small lines, as struck and obviously caused by heavy die polishing. The obverse has the Unalom device around a center hole, with the date and value. The reverse has an eight-blade chakra around the center hole. The first set of Thailand decimal coins was issued in 1898 in denominations of 10, 10, 5, and 2-1/2 Satang. These were struck in a copper-nickel alloy. The gold set offered here is from the second series of decimal coins and was struck as a presentation set. The comprehensive book on Thailand coins by Krisadaolarn and Mihailovs lists these gold issues as Specimen strikes. These issues are exceedingly rare, and this is the only set of these gold patterns that we have seen, even though NGC has certified three examples of the 1 Satang, the piece offered here being the nicest of the three.

Estimate: 20000-24000 USD
