THRACE. Maroneia. Ca. 400-350 BC. AR stater (24mm, 11.40 gm, 7h). NGC Choice VF 5/5 - 3/5. Hegesagoreos, magistrate. Free horse rearing to left, eagle above about to alight on its back / ΕΠΙ ΗΓΗΣ - ΑΓΟΡΕΩ above and below linear square enclosing grape arbor with four bunches, all within shallow incuse square. Schönert-Geiss, Maroneia 501 (same dies). Rare variety. Nicely centered on a broad flan.
