POSTVMVS AVG, radiate "heroic" bust of Postumus left, holding club over right shoulder, lion's head on left shoulder, strap across bare chest / PAX AVG, Pax standing left, holding olive branch in right hand and transverse scepter cradled in left arm. RIC 319. RSC 218. Very rare bust type! Beautiful glossy deep gray patina.
The Cunetio Treasure, which contained 12,991 antoniniani of Postumus, included only nine with this attractive obverse type, depicting the emperor as Hercules.
