Elizabeth II Christopher Columbus Proof silver 500 Dollars Maritime 2006, This massive 5 Kilo coin was issued to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of Christopher Columbus's discovery of America. The coin depicts a map with Columbus and the Santa Maria with an embedded working compass that is housed in a large plastic capsule which is partially broken. However the coin is fully protected and shows little handling if any (some faint hairlines on the obverse). Coin is numbered 238, the capsule and coin are countersunk in a brass porthole which opens, closes, and screws down is embossed with "238/500" on a wooden display. No COA is included but lot comes in the original box and packaging securely protecting the item. An unusual offering for the maritime enthusiast. 160.75 Oz. ASW
